ONLINE: Trousers Techniques with Beth Galvin

Learn to make trousers! 

In this class, garment maker extraodinaire, Beth Galvin, will teach you all the techniques you need to be able to make amazing trousers. Rather than focus on only one pattern, she will share the tips and tricks needed to make just about any trouser pattern. 

Beth will cover how to:

• mark and sew pleats
• make slant front pockets 
• create a fly zipper
• back welt pockets
• match plaids
• line pants

In addition, she will discuss various styles of waistbands, interfacing waistbands, and seam finishes. This is not a fitting class but she will discuss choosing your size and a few other fit tips.

There are lots of great patterns out there. Don't worry, Beth will cover pattern and fabric selection in the first class to help you choose your favorite. Because this class focuses on techniques rather than being a sew-along following a specific pattern, you will learn all the skills regardless of what pattern you select!

Each week Beth will walk you through new topics and skills needed to make trousers, sharing her expertise and answering all of your questions. One of the great things about this online class is that you can choose whether you want to sew along that week's techniques, or if you just want to watch class and sew when it's convenient for you. You have video available to refresh your memory when you want to tackle that part of the project.

You have a few projects under your belt. You aready know how to thread and use a sewing machine and you're ready to learn more advanced basics.

About the instructor: 

Beth Galvin started sewing at age 7 and can sew everything from casual knit tops to tailored jackets to over the top party dresses. She has a popular sewing blog, Sunnygal Studio where she shares her tips and tricks and she also blogs for Craftsy. Beth loves to help people get the pattern they love to fit the way they want.
