A textile workshop with Julia McLeod
Sunday, March 9, 10AM - 3PM PDT (1PM - 6PM EDT)
Create a small quilt or a seasonal wall hanging by layering sheer chiffons and organza over more robust cottons. Whether you are interested in learning a unique technique to create your own textiles or want to make beautiful hand-made gifts or decorations, this is the class for you! In this class, Julia will explore how she uses varied combinations of color, pattern and texture to create her quilts. She will teach you her technique of fusing fabrics together to build layers with unexpected and beautiful results.
After exploring the basic technique, we’ll experiment with trapping other textile objects between layers, quilting, embroidering and cutting away to create new effects.
