Have sewing and pattern questions in your #sewisolation? Join this virtual sewing class with instructor Beth Galvin where she will discuss how to choose your pattern size, and explain how various pattern brands handle sizing differently. She will talk about one of the most important elements for garment success, the fabric choice. Beth will also cover what to look for in a a good sewing pattern. The class will wrap up with a Q&A among the group where you can ask questions about things you are working on and get advice on pairing pattern with fabric.
This is the perfect class for someone just getting into sewing and is a good refresher for those who have always wondered what all that information on a pattern is for!
Skill level: ✂️ and up
This is a great basic class for those just getting into sewing and also a good refresher for more advanced students.
Supplies: None required, but if you have a specific project with pattern & fabric that you are about to tackle, it's not a bad idea to have it handy in case you'd like to ask a question about it!
About the instructor:
Beth Galvin started sewing at age 7 and can sew everything from casual knit tops to tailored jackets to over the top party dresses. She has a popular sewing blog, Sunnygal Studio where she shares her tips and tricks and she also blogs for Craftsy. Beth loves to help people get the pattern they love to fit the way they want. She is brilliant at adding stylish little details that make your projects look professional and special, but what's even better is that she has figured out how to make it easier! One of her favorite things is to teach you the tips and shortcuts that will make your sewing faster and also more fun. Cancellation Policy:
Class fees are transferable to another class or to studio credit if cancellation is made at least 72 hours before class. If cancellations are made after the 72 hour advance window has passed, we will not be able to issue refunds or studio credits. You can, however transfer the class to a friend.
If a student arrives 10 minutes or more after the start of class, it is at the discretion of the teacher as to whether the student will be admitted to the Zoom meeting. No refunds or studio credit will be given for late arrivals or no-shows.
