Learn to make your own jeans! Using the Ash pattern from Megan Nielsen patterns, you can choose from a number of great styles including: a modern slim leg jean, a skinny jean a flare jean, and a wide leg jean. Get the fit right on one of the styles and use that as a template to make the other 3. We ❤️that!

In this workshop, you will learn how to:

  • Choose the correct size
  • Cut and mark your fabric
  • Baste to check fit
  • Sew front and patch pockets
  • Sew a fly front
  • Topstitching tips
  • Proper seam finishes for jeans
  • Apply the waistband and belt loops

Skill level: Intermediate - You need to already understand how lay out and cut out a pattern as well as be familiar with basic garment sewing concepts such as seam allowance and how to thread an use a sewing machine. You should have made at least one or two garments before taking this class.

Supplies: The supply list will be mailed upon registration. (The Ash pattern is not included in the class cost and will need to be purchased separately.)

*This class comes free lab time until 8pm the day of your class so that you can stay and work on your project with the help of Hello Stitch Staff.

About the instructor:

Beth Galvin started sewing at age 7 and can sew everything from casual knit tops to tailored jackets to over the top party dresses. She has a popular sewing blog, Sunnygal Studio where she shares her tips and tricks and she also blogs for Craftsy. Beth loves to help people get the pattern they love to fit the way they want. She is brilliant at adding stylish little details that make your projects look professional and special, but what's even better is that she has figured out how to make it easier! One of her favorite things is to teach you the tips and shortcuts that will make your sewing faster and also more fun.
