About the Event
Have you always wanted to learn how to sew but aren't sure where to start? Or maybe you've had some experience with a sewing machine, but need a refresher? This is the class for you! We will teach you everything you need to know in order to take our Beginner (102) classes.
In this class, we will be making lined canvas tote bags. You will learn:
- Sewing machine basics
- How to cut use a rotary cutter and ruler
- How to use a basic pattern
- How to cut "on the grain"
- How to make cloth napkins
Supply List: You will need 2 yards of fabric for this class. Fabric will be available for purchase at Hello Stitch on the day of the workshop, or you can bring your own!
Skill level: ✂️
You've seen a sewing machine before, but you've never played with one, or if you have given it a try, you'd really love a little extra help to make sure you're doing it correctly.
About the Instructor:
Liat Rorer was forced to learn to sew in Home Economics class, and she found it about as appealing as the creamed chipped beef on toast she had to cook. Years later, when she began to sew on her own, she found a passion that combined her creative, analytic and practical sides. We joke that her quilts are huge because she just can’t stop herself. When she’s not in the studio, she might be in her kitchen making something other than creamed chipped beef.
