Learn how to sew this wardrobe staple! There are so many wonderful knit wrap dress patterns out there. Pick the one that you like best and Beth will teach you how to stitch it up! This is a great opportunity to learn to sew knits while making a stylish dress that is flattering on so many figures. 

Vogue designer patterns has re-released the pattern for the iconic Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress but you can pick any pattern as long as it is a knit wrap dress. Because this class focuses on techniques rather than being a sew-along following a specific pattern, you will learn the skills regardless of what pattern you select!

• the Ultimate Wrap Dress by Sew Over It 

You will learn these skills:

• choosing pattern size
• cutting out and sewing knits
• how to interface knits
• pattern markings, sewing darts and tucks
• hem full skirts with a narrow hem
• adjust wrap necklines for fit
• trimming and pressing

There is a lot of sewing involved in making a dress so you might not finish during class time. The important thing is that you will leave with the skills you need so you can finish at home.

You aready know how to thread and use a sewing machine. You have made a few garments and you're ready to learn more advanced basics.

Supplies:

We will send you a detailed supply list when you sign up. 

Sewing Machines and Equipment:

You will need to bring your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies to class. The specific tools you need will be included in the supply list.

About the instructor: 

Beth Galvin started sewing at age 7 and can sew everything from casual knit tops to tailored jackets to over the top party dresses. She has a popular sewing blog, Sunnygal Studio where she shares her tips and tricks and she also blogs for Craftsy. Beth loves to help people get the pattern they love to fit the way they want. She is brilliant at adding stylish little details that make your projects look professional and special, but what's even better is that she has figured out how to make it easier! One of her favorite things is to teach you the tips and shortcuts that will make your sewing faster and also more fun. Sign up for one of Beth's classes and let her teach you how satisfying it can be to sew great clothes that make you look great!

This class is being held at the Bay Quilts located at 5327 Jacuzzi St. 3-C, Richmond, CA 94804. The classroom space is on the 2nd level so you will need to be able to climb a flight of stairs. There is a convenient caddy so you don't have to carry your equipment up the stairs.
